Is my sermon or episode sent to the cloud?
Recording, transcription, projects, and local AI stay on your computer. Only the chapter text or cover brief you deliberately submit to Premium AI is encrypted in transit and sent for generation. Audio is never sent for Premium Polish, and your material is not used to train The Scribe.
Will the book really sound like me?
That's the whole design. “Keeping it Real” is instructed to preserve your conviction, rhythm, illustrations, and voice — and forbidden from inventing content or Scripture. You approve every chapter in an editable preview before anything ships.
Is the AI chat really offline?
Yes. Chat runs on the same open-source model that lives on your Mac — no account, no internet needed once it’s downloaded, and nothing you type is sent anywhere. Attach any transcript and work through titles, themes, and content plans in complete privacy.
Can I hear the audiobook voice before exporting?
Yes — pick any macOS voice and speed, press Listen for an instant sample, then export the whole book chapter by chapter.
What computers does it run on?
On Mac: Apple Silicon M1 or newer, macOS 14+, and 8 GB memory. On PC: 64-bit Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11, a modern 4-core Intel/AMD processor, and 8 GB RAM. We recommend 16 GB memory and an SSD for long recordings and larger local AI models.
Which payment plan should I choose?
Start free with three completed transcriptions. Choose Publisher Monthly at $29 for flexibility or a focused book project. Choose Publisher Annual at $249 for the strongest value: it saves $99 versus twelve monthly payments while providing the same Premium AI allowance throughout the year.
What happens if I cancel a subscription?
You keep full access through the end of the paid billing period. Your recordings, transcripts, projects, and exports remain yours. You can reactivate Monthly or Annual later without losing your locally stored manuscript files.
How are Premium AI allowances protected and counted?
Publisher includes up to 60,000 completed premium words per monthly allowance period. The app shows remaining usage before you submit more work. Failed model requests are automatically refunded, duplicate submissions are not charged twice, and unusually large or automated traffic is rate-limited. Allowances are personal, non-transferable, do not roll over, and may not be pooled, resold, scraped, or accessed by bots or third-party services.
Does The Scribe store manuscripts sent to Premium AI?
Recordings and local transcripts remain on your computer. For a durable Book Architect job, the submitted source and completed manuscript are held securely only as needed to finish the job and let you recover it after a disconnect; completed manuscript text is automatically removed from the cloud recovery store after seven days. The usage ledger retains privacy-minimized operational data such as hashed license identity, word and token counts, cost estimate, status, and request time.
Can I publish and sell the books it makes?
Yes. The KDP Publishing Assistant validates metadata, creates a clean publishing package, opens your Amazon KDP Bookshelf, and guides the upload. For account security and accuracy, The Scribe never stores your Amazon password and you review the preview, rights, territories, and pricing before pressing Amazon’s final Publish button.
